Description
This Panerai Ferrari Scuderia chronograph was the first of the new Ferarri watches to hit the street. Ferrari felt very positive about their collaboration with Panerai, especially so when Panerai promised a new in-house caliber for the new Ferarri watches. The wait was worth it, and all the fuss is understandable when you have one of these watches in your hand to admire.
The case is just wonderful. The stainless steel case is mostly brush finished, with some polished surfaces to give the watch a tasteful bit of flash. Dimensions are 45mm long by 44mm wide by 17.5mm thick. Domed sapphire crystal. Solid caseback. Screw down chronograph pushers and crown (all of which have a textured finish for ease of gripping). Water resistant to 100 meters.
Movement is a Panerai manufacture chronograph caliber with automatic winding.
Dial is black with yellow highlights. The Scuderia Ferrari crest is applied, as is the grey plate which connects the two subdials.
Interestingly, the watch is not branded Panerai on the dial. "Engineered by Officine Panerai" is engraved on the caseback, but other than that, Panerai is not mentioned. It is clear that Ferrari is trying to brand the watches under their own name.
Accordingly, the excellent deployant clasp is also enblazoned with "Ferrari". Strap is black with yellow inside surface. This is a really nice watch and is brand new with box and papers. |
