Description
This is a very rare, very special Patek Philippe, which does not appear on the market very often. In fact, only four reference 3619s have appeared at auction in the past five years, and three of those had the less desirable bracelet (integrated bracelet with no lugs case).
I am a great admirer of this combination of white gold case, blue dial and diamonds. The overall effect is subtle, and upon close inspection it's clear that this watch is first class -- as all Pateks are, inevitably.
This watch was produced in limited quantities in the 1970s. Featuring a large, horizontally oriented oval case shape (38mm across by 36mm tall by 10mm thick) and beautiful brushed sunburst pattern dial with diamonds, this model was made for travellers.
There is a second hour hand which is moved forward or backwards in one hour increments by depressing buttons on the left-side of the case. This way, a traveller is instantly apprised of both local and home times.
Caliber inside is the manually winding Patek Philippe Caliber 27 HS 400 which is rhodium plated, decorated with a "Fausses Cotes" pattern, has 18 jewels, Gyromax balance, and self-compensating Breguet balance spring. Naturally, the movement is stamped with the Geneva Seal, attesting to the mastery of the caliber designers and constructors.
The watch offered here is in mint+ condition
