Description
Here is a very rare and interesting vintage Patek Philippe Calatrava from the late 1930s. The original case is in mint plus condition as are the original inside dustcover, the original movement and the original caseback. In fact, the movement is pristine. The original dial and hands are also immaculate.
Steel case is 28mm diameter and features a screwdown caseback, which was Patek Philippe's earliest approach toward a water proof case. Front crystal is domed. The original winding crown is oversized compared with Patek's other manual winding wristwatches from the same period. The original dustcover and caseback fit into the case perfectly. The overall condition of the original case and its parts is mint plus.
Original movement is a Patek Philippe manual winding Caliber with 18 jewels. The movement is inscribed: "No. 912266; Eighteen (18) Jewels; Adjusted Five (5) Positions; Three (3) Heat, Cold, Isochronism; Patek Philippe & Co.; Geneve, Swiss".
Original dial is silver with applied arabic numerals, rail minutes chapter, subsidiary seconds and original baton hands.
Watch is on a new old stock Patek Philippe Alligator strap with steel vintage Patek buckle.
