Coming across a vintage, museum quality Rolex Oyster Perpetual Ref. 3130 Bubble Back, such as this example, is a special event indeed! Not only is this watch in absolutely original and unrestored, mint condition, but we acquired it from the original owner, who has had it in his possession since 1946!
This is an absolutely beautiful watch, featuring a rare 14k rose gold case, bezel and Rolex Brevet Oyster crown. It measures 33 mm in diameter, and has the most stunning 100% original Oyster Perpetual dials we’ve seen. The dial is in phenomenal condition, and features alternating roman numerals and baton markers, which are set against the perfect evenly distributed patina, which is a slight off yellow. Additionally, the sub seconds register at 6 ‘o clock, which is located right underneath the chronometer acknowledgement, and perfect original feuille hands, gives this watch the extra little push towards the “must have” category.
The automatic chronometer movement, caliber 630, sz NA, with 9-3/4 lignes is clean and runs smoothly.
If you are a Rolex collector, you will recognize the significance of this watch; if you are starting a collection, this fabulous watch should definitely be worth a strong consideration. It will be supplied on a black leather strap.
