Description
This vintage Rolex GMT Master from 1971 is quite a find. Not only is the watch fantastic, but the original box and papers set is outstanding. I really love these reference 1675 GMTs in steel with the matte dial and “pepsi” bezel. Very classic, and with this set of accessories, extremely collectable.
Original case is stainless steel with dimensions of 40mm diameter by 13mm thick. Acrylic crystal with Cyclops magnifying lens over the date display. Bi-directional 24 hour bezel in red and blue (turns smoothly).
Screw down crown. Inside case back is stamped “1675” and has production code of IV.68 for fourth quarter 1968, Case is in really excellent condition, with all lugs being fat and balanced.
Serial number 2068XXX dates production to 1968. Serial number is also present on the original punch papers – the Chronometer Attestation certificate and in the Guarantee section of the “Your Rolex Oyster” booklet. The original sales receipt has the purchase date of June 5, 1971.
Original dial is black matte. The luminous is original (and has some minor streaking between the 4 o’clock and 7 o’clock positions, which will probably clean up easily).
Movement is the automatic winding Rolex Caliber 1570 with 26 jewels and adjusted to 5 positions and temperature. This movement is a C.O.S.C. Certified Chronometer and is as clean as the day it left the Rolex factory.
Bracelet is a Rolex Jubilee and will comfortably fit up to an 8 inch wrist. The bracelet appears to be new and with zero stretch.

** Your Rolex Oyster booklet with punched Guarantee pages
** Punched Attestation de Chronometre Officiel certificate
** Purchase receipt from Artland Watch Co. Ltd. And co-labeled U.S. Navy Purchasing Department from Hong Kong. Receipt dated 5 June 71
** Green GMT Master product description card with “Use box for cigarettes after removing this card and watch-support”. (This is really a sign of the times that the watch was sold and you NEVER see these)
** Rolex Guarantee text document translated into five languages
** Rolex green billfold for the documents
