Description
This vintage Patek Philippe Calatrava reference 96 was made in 1944 and sold on March 22, 1945. The dial is spectacular: 100% original and untouched, silvered with applied Breguet numerals, original gold sword hands and blued sweep seconds hand and printed minutes and seconds chapter. Dial is in excellent original condition. This dial configuration with applied golden Breguet numerals is rare and beautiful and prized by collectors.
Original case is 18k yellow gold with dimensions of 30.5mm diameter by 10.6mm thick. Crystal is domed acrylic. Case maintains its original mirror finish on the top surface including the bezel, brush finish on the middle case body and mirror finished on the 18k case back. Case is in mint to mint plus condition.
Original movement is the manual winding Caliber 12’’’ 120 with 20 jewels, adjusted to five positions, heat, cold and isochronism. The movement is double stamped with the Geneva Seal. Movement is running will and very clean.
Strap is new hand sewn Patek black crocodile with gold pated Patek tang buckle.
Watch will be accompanied by its Extract from the Archives that references the silvered dial with Breguet numerals.
