Description
Ah, the Goodies. It’s the Goodies (and condition) that differentiate the outstanding vintage watches from the ordinary ones. This Rolex Cosmograph Daytona reference 6263 has ALL of the Goodies plus it’s in never polished original condition with original finish. It’s got its original papers, original inner and outer box (with 6263 sticker still attached), two Rolex Cosmograph booklets, Your Rolex Oyster booklet, green documents folder, Rolex polishing cloth and even a Carlyle & Co. Presidential Service certificate.
The serial number on this watch is 8547XXX which dates the watch to 1984. We bought this watch from the original owner, whose name is on the papers which are dated November 27, 1984.
Original case is stainless steel with dimensions of 37.5mm diameter by 13.5mm thick. Crystal is acrylic. Screw down crown and chronograph pushers all work perfectly and the chronograph functions all reset crisply and accurately to their respective zero positions. The case has some light signs of wear, but truly all very minor, and the original finish has never been marred by polishing.
Original movement is the manual winding Rolex Caliber 727 with 17 jewels. This is a column wheel chronograph construction.
Original dial is black with contrasting silver subdials and the famous big red “Daytona” arching around the top of the 6 o’clock subdial. The dial is untouched and in perfect condition.
Bracelet is the Rolex Oyster reference 78350 with 571 end links. Bracelet has 13 links and is in excellent condition with no stretch.
This is the real deal. A wonderful Daytona with all the goodies.
