The Santos 100 watches have been a huge success for Cartier. It’s not without reason that Cartier is such a leader in the fashion business. They get things right, from design to execution. The Santos 100 is a perfect example. Cartier adapted the great looking Santos model to current trends (i.e. large watches) and hit the ball out of the park.
The squarish size case is solid 18k red gold with dimensions of 40mm wide (not including the crown) by 50mm long including the lugs by 10.3mm thick. The Santos case is instantly recognizable by the square bezel with its rounded corners and 8 exposed (and functional) screws. The crystal is sapphire and this watch is water resistant to 100 meters. The crown has a sapphire cabochon.
Dial is classic Cartier, with its printed black roman numerals and minutes chapter inside the numerals. Hands are inlaid with luminous for low light legibility.
Movement is the automatic winding Cartier Caliber 049 MC with 21 jewels and beating at 28,800 vibrations per hour.
Strap is thickly padded brown Cartier crocodile with an 18k rose gold Cartier double deployant clasp.
