Description
Here is an early Rolex Cosmograph, from 1966, with stainless steel case and great looking silver dial with contrasting black subdials. The watch is 100% original and fresh from the original owner. I swear, even after holding and examining probably 2,000 Rolex Daytonas over the years, I still take an extra minute or two to admire each one.

Original stainless steel case measures 36mm diameter by 14.2mm thick. Acrylic crystal. Screw down crown is original and operating perfectly. Round pump-style chronograph pushers are also operating crisply and the chronograph hands all reset accurately to their zero positions. The case is in overall excellent condition. The serrated edge on the case back has two dings. Otherwise, although the case shows wear, there are no remarkable scratches and no dings at all. The original bezel is very clean, and has a Units per Hour scale from ‘50’ to ‘200’.

Serial number 1463XXX dates production of this watch to 1966.

Original silver dial is untouched, with contrasting black subdials, and original hands. The dial has no damage, but does have some light and scattered spotting, which is consistent with the age of the watch.

Original movement is the manual winding Rolex Caliber 72B with 17 rubies and column wheel construction. The movement is in clean, running condition.

Bracelet is a modern Rolex Oyster 78350 in mint+ condition with 13 links and will fit up to an 8 inch wrist.

I fear that the description of this watch does not do it justice, and may be a bit too technical, because “in the metal”, this is a beautiful, vintage Rolex Cosmograph.
