Description
The Jules Audemars chronograph is, sadly, a discontinued model. For years, this attractive two-register chronograph was a mainstay in the Audemars Piguet line up. Of course, Audemars Piguet is know best known for the Royal Oak watches, but this watch was easily the most popular offering from AP outside of the Royal Oak models. It looks great and has all of AP's considerable horolgical might inside of it and behind it.
The stainless steel case measures 39mm diameter by 11mm thick. The crystal is domed sapphire. The case back is screwed down and is opaque. The finishing on this case is up to AP's usual exemplary standards. The top of the case - the bezel and the top of the lugs - is polished, while the case body is satin finished. The lugs are straight. The chronograph pushers are surrounded by knurled guards, which aesthetically match the knurling in the crown.
The black dial features applied arabic numerals and hour markers, in white gold, and baton style hands. The chronograph hands are white, to contrast with the black dial for legibility.
Movement is the automatic winding, in house Audemars Piguet Caliber 2226 with 51 jewels, beating at 28,800 vibrations per hour, with a 40 hour power reserve, and is completely hand assembled, hand decorated and hand finished.
Watch is new with box and papers. Take a look around, this watch is very hard to find now.
