Description
This Rolex Cosmograph Daytona reference 16520 features the so called color change dial. The color change happens to black dial Daytonas from the 1990s, whose silver subdial chapter rings are changing color from silver to brown. These dials are rare and highly sought after by collectors. This watch is in 99% new condition with box and Rolex Service papers from a service this watch received in April 2009. Unworn since the service, this watch is essentially in new condition.
Original case is stainless steel with dimensions of 39mm diameter by 12.5mm thick. Units Per Hour bezel engraving with scale from 400 to 60, sapphire crystal, screw down crown and screw down chronograph pushers which ensure water resistance to 100 meters on this legendary Rolex sports watch. This is a âTâ production series watch (1995).
Original movement is the Rolex Caliber 4030 which is actually a Rolex modified Zenith El Primero base caliber. If one ever needed proof that Rolex is a perfectionist, they need look no further than Rolex's selection of and modifications to the El Primero. The Zenith El Primero was, and is, recognized as being the best large series production chronograph caliber made. Rolex used the El Primero in their Daytona watches, but not before doing extensive upgrades and refinements. The movement is a C.O.S.C. Certified Chronometer.
Original dial is black with applied luminous hour markers and hands, red "Daytona", 30 minute and 12 hour chronograph totalizer subdials, and the aforementioned chronograph subdial chapter rings in the very early stage of fading to brown.
Original bracelet is stainless steel Rolex Oyster bracelet with 12 links, and will fit up to an 8 inch wrist.
This watch is all original and truly 99.9% new. Watch will be delivered with box and Rolex service papers.
