Description
Blancpain might just make the nicest chronograph around with their 2185 chronographs. The manufacture Caliber F185 movement is top notch. The Blancpain Lemans case is much nicer than it needs to be at this price point. The dial is signature Blancpain and is as legible as it is nice looking. This particular watch features an 18k white gold case and special collector’s blue dial. These blue dial watches were produced in very low numbers, as evidenced by this watch’s serial number 1X.
The 18k white gold case features a domed sapphire crystal, screw down crown and chronograph pushers, and display sapphire crystal. Case dimensions are 38mm diameter by 12mm thick. Water resistant to 100 meters. Case is mirror polished with smooth bezel and screw down caseback.
Special edition blue dial has applied luminous hour markers and hands with date at 6 o’clock. Chronograph 30 minute totalizer subdial at 3 o’clock and 12 hour totalizer at 9 o’clock.
Movement is the elite automatic winding Blancpain Caliber F185, which is a flyback chronograph with date. It is a very thin caliber at 5.5mm thick, which is remarkable for an automatic chronograph movement. Movement features 308 individual parts, has an approximately 40 hour power reserve, has 37 jewels and features column wheel construction.
Rotor is gold and signed with the watch’s serial number.
Strap is black padded Blancpain calf leather with 18k white gold Blancpain deployant clasp. Strap has a light creasing from the deployant clasp being closed for a while, but is overall, like the watch itself, in “like new” condition.
