Description
The Rolex Daytona is always a good idea. To wear. To collect. Modern. Vintage. You name it. Long live the Rolex Daytona; that’s all I can say.
This is a vintage reference 6239 Cosmograph Daytona in stainless steel. Case measures 37mm diameter by 13.8mm thick. Crystal is acrylic. The 6239 bezel is polished steel. The black enamel paint has over time come off of the bezel. However, the bezel is as sharp as the day Rolex made it and is original. We would never alter a watch, but if the next owner wishes we can have the black paint professionally restored. The screw down crown and pump style chronograph pushers are working fine and the chronograph functions reset to their zero positions. Case is in excellent to mint condition.
Serial number 1626XXX dates production to 1967. Inside case back is engraved ‘6239’.
Original black dial has applied hour markers and contrasting silver subdials, which are sunken and have concentric guilloche. Dial is near mint and completely untouched. Hands are original.
Original movement is the manual winding Rolex Caliber 722 with 17 jewels, adjusted to 3 positions and with column wheel construction. Movement is clean and working fine.
Bracelet is USA made Rolex Jubilee with round links and will fit up to a 7.5 inch wrist.
