Description
When I first got really interested in watches in the 1990s, Blancpain was earning kudos for being partly responsible for the renaissance of mechanical Swiss watches. Jean Claude Biver, a watch industry living legend, was at the helm and Blancpain was producing one winning model after the next. The Leman is a great watch in all regards. The triple date calendar with moonphase is a wonderful daily watch, stylistically versatile, and a watch that you can be proud of.
Stainless steel case measures 38.5mm by 11.9mm high. Crystal is domed sapphire. The crown and caseback screw down. Finish is mirror polished and “BLANCPAIN” is engraved on the 9 o’clock caseside. Water resistant to 100 meters.
Dial is white with applied hour markers, skeletonized hands with luminous, apertures for day and month, moonphase and seconds displays above 6 o’clock, and center mounted red arrow tipped date hand.
Movement is the automatic winding Blancpain Piguet Caliber 6763 with 31 jewels, beating at 21,600 vibrations per hour, and with a 100 hour power reserve (as noted on the dial).
Strap is medium brown Blancpain crocodile with steel Blancpain tang buckle.
