Description
This vintage 18k gold automatic winding Patek Philippe Calatrava from 1961 features an interesting case which has never been polished, as the vast majority of watches have. Watch is in original near mint condition and will be delivered with Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives and vintage Patek box.
Original 18k gold case has angular lugs and bezel, whose edges have not been compromised by polishing. The case back is a massive, solid gold screw back, and the crystal is domed acrylic. Original solid gold crown with opposing PPs.
Original silver dial has applied, long baton style hour markers (with unusual triple marker at 12 o’clock), original baton hands, embossed minutes chapter, and subsidiary seconds dial with original golden hand.
Original automatic winding Patek Philippe Caliber 27-460 Caliber with 37 jewels; adjusted to heat, cold, isochronism and in 5 positions; and stamped with the Geneva Seal. The winding rotor is solid gold.
It’s worth mentioning that this watch has several unusual aspects: the triple hour markers at 12 o’clock, the longer than normal hour markers, and the movement engraving reads: “THIRTY (30)JEWELS AND SEVEN (7) JEWELS” versus the normal convention of simply: “THIRTY SEVEN (37) JEWELS”.
Strap is Patek crocodile.
