Description
A solid 18k gold vintage Rolex Cosmograph is a beautiful thing to own. If your experience resembles mine, it will make you happy every day that you put in on your wrist. There’s a majesty about gold watches that their steel brethren lack.
Original case is solid 18k gold with dimensions of 37mm diameter by 13.9mm thick. Engraved “Units per Hour” bezel with scale from ‘50’ to ‘200’ has its original sharp edge. Screw down crown and round pump style chronograph pushers are all working perfectly. Chronograph hands reset crisply and accurately to zero. Crystal is domed acrylic. Case is in mint original condition and has fat and uniform lugs. The case is in mint to mint plus. Very, very nice.
The best thing about gold watches is that the gold on many develop a patina. This watch almost appears as rose gold, which with the black dial, is spectacularly nice looking.
Serial number 6123XXX dates production to 1979.
Original untouched black dial with applied golden hour markers and contrasting gold color subdials. The hands are all original. Dial is in mint condition.
Original movement is the manual winding Rolex Caliber 727 with 17 jewels and adjusted to 3 positions. Caliber features column wheel construction and is a C.O.S.C. Certified Chronometer. Movement is winding smoothly and running well. Movement is in pristine condition.
Bracelet is an 18k Rolex riveted Oyster with 13 links. Bracelet has light stretch and is in very good condition.
