Description
Patek Philippe invented the annual calendar complication with the reference 5035 in the 1990s. In the years since, Patek has introduced several versions of an annual calendar. In my opinion, the reference 5135 Gondolo is their finest interpretation of this important complication. The case is unique and thoroughly modern, and the ultra-prestigious platinum case is complemented perfectly by the slate color dial.
Case is solid platinum, in a hybrid cushion-tonneau shape, with dimensions of 51mm long (lug tip to lug tip) by 38mm wide by 12mm thick. The case is finished to a mirror polish. Front and back crystals are sapphire. Water resistant to 25 meters. Diamond inset into the case between the lugs on the 6 o’clock side.
Dial is slate color with an inner-ring featuring concentric circle guilloche; applied hour markers and diamonds at the "3" and "9" positions. The calendar window near 10 o'clock is the day, date at 12 o'clock, and month near 2 o'clock. Moonphase at 6 o'clock, and there is a 24 hour indicator hand revolving around the moonphase dial. Hands are dauphine, which are the perfect choice for this wristwatch.
Movement is the automatic winding Patek Philippe Caliber 324/205 with 34 jewels, 45 hour power reserve, gold rotor, and adjusted to heat, cold, isochronism and in 5 positions. The Geneva Seal is stamped on the movement.
Strap is hand-sewn Patek crocodile with platinum Patek tang buckle.
Watch is indiscernible from new with box and papers and setting stylus.
