Description
Here is a clean and mint vintage Rolex Submariner reference 1680, in great working order, and beautiful original dial with matching original hands.
Original stainless steel case measures 39.5mm in diameter by 14mm thick. My favorite aspect of the 1960s and 70s Submariners are their profiles. The tall profile of the 1680 comes from its “top hat” style crystal, which is acrylic. Crystal on this watch is in perfect condition. Original screw down crown is operating perfectly. Original bezel is mint and turning smoothly. Bezel insert is very clean.
Serial number 5249XXX dates production of this watch to 1978.
Original untouched black dial is in perfect condition, and the patina on the hour markers and original hands matches and is a very pleasing, uniform, color.
Original movement is the automatic winding Rolex Caliber 1570 with 26 jewels; adjusted to 5 positions and temperature; and is a C.O.S.C. Certified Chromometer.
Bracelet is Rolex Oyster reference 93150 with light stretch and very clean.
