Description
Very clean, all original, vintage Rolex Submariner reference 1680 with original box and papers. Bucherer in Lucerne Switzerland retailed this watch on May 30, 1978.
Original stainless steel case is in mint+ condition and retains its Rolex factory case edges. Top hat acrylic crystal. Original bezel turns properly and the original insert is clean save for one mark near 11 o’clock. Original Triplock crown operates smoothly.
Original black dial is untouched mint. Original hands show some aging and are near mint. Date display at 3 o’clock.
Movement is the Rolex automatic winding Caliber 1570, one of the most accurate automatic movements ever built by any manufacture. Maintained properly, many caliber 1570s keep time to within 1 or 2 seconds per day after 20+ years. This movement is a C.O.S.C. Certified Chronometer. By the feel of the crown/winding I would say this movement is recently serviced.
Bracelet is the Rolex Oyster 93150 with ‘580’ endlinks and 11 links and is in mint condition.
With original box and papers, all original condition in mint+ condition, this is a highly collectable vintage Submariner.
