Description
Here is a nice, all original condition vintage Rolex Datejust reference 1625, also known as a “Thunderbird”. The Thunderbird moniker comes from the bezel, which is a bi-directional count-up timing device. On these vintage Datejusts, the Thunderbird bezel is rare. The bezel on this watch has great depth to the numerals and the fine engraving is unmarred.
The solid 18k gold case on this watch is in excellent condition. The all important Thunderbird bezel is a bit dirty but the great news is that the gold has not been diminished by polishing and aside from being a little dirty it is mint. Crystal is acrylic. The screw down crown is operating fine.
The champagne pie-pan dial is original and untouched. Applied golden hour markers. Original golden sword style hands. Date at 3 o’clock. The dial has a radial brush finish.
Original automatic winding Rolex Caliber 1560 with 25 jewels and adjusted to temperature and in 5 positions. This movement is a C.O.S.C. Certified Chronometer and is in excellent condition.
Strap is rustic leather made in Italy alligator with authentic Rolex buckle.
