Description
This vintage Rolex Cosmograph Daytona is very clean and mint and 100% original. This watch has that certain something that makes it pop visually. I dare say, if you are in the market for a vintage Daytona that you should buy this watch. You can thank me later.
Original stainless steel case is 37mm in diameter by 13.2mm thick. Original screw down chronograph pushers and original screw down crown, all working perfectly. Acrylic crystal. Original bezel with Units per Hour scale from ‘50’ to ‘200’. Bezel is clean and with original sharp edge with the exception of a tiny ding on the edge at the ‘110’ position on the scale. Lugs are full metal and sharp. Case is in original, mint condition.
Serial number 5523XXX dates production to 1978.
Original untouched dial is silver with applied hour markers and contrasting black subdials with concentric guilloche. Hands are all original and the subdial hands are white so as to maximize legibility against the black subdials. “DAYTONA” is in red. Dial is in perfect condition.
Original movement is the manual winding Rolex Caliber 727 with 17 jewels and adjusted to three positions. This chronograph caliber features column wheel construction. Movement is pristine and running great.
Bracelet is Rolex 78350 Oyster with 13 links in excellent condition.
