Remember the voice of Vito Corleone (Marlon Brando’s character in the Godfather)? Imagine him asking you, as he holds out this watch: “You like fat lugs? You want to see some fat lugs?”
Fat lugs indeed, because this watch is in perfect condition. As great looking as a watch can possibly be. This vintage Daytona also has its original box and papers and a Rolex Service paper from 2005.
Stainless steel case measures 37mm diameter by 13.5mm thick. The 6265 has the polished metal bezel, which I think is great looking. The screw down crown and screw down chronograph pushers function perfectly. Acrylic crystal.
Serial number 9020XXX dates production to 1986, making this a late and final production 6265.
Original and untouched silver dial with applied hour markers, contrasting black subdials, original hands and ‘DAYTONA’ in red. This dial is in mint+ condition.
Movement is the manual winding Rolex Caliber 727 with 17 jewels and column wheel construction. The movement is clean and operating perfectly.
Bracelet is the Rolex Oyster reference 78350 with ‘571’ end links and 12 links. Condition of the bracelet is mint to mint+.
