Description
The Red Submariner is one of those must have collector’s watches. Here is a really nice example of a red Sub, which is complete with original box and papers. The dial patina is outstanding and the watch is 100% original. In fact, the bezel insert and dial give the slightest hint that they are just beginning to turn to brown. Extremely nice looking red Sub.
Original stainless steel case measures 40mm diameter by 13.9mm thick. The 1680 was outfitted with the acrylic “top hat” crystal, and the crystal on this watch is perfectly clean. Original bezel is mint and turns as it should. Bezel insert’s original black color has mellowed a bit and the originally silver colored numerals and hash marks have developed a patina and are Havana gold brown. Bezel pearl perfectly matches the patina on the hour markers. Case is in near mint condition.
Original black dial is untouched and in perfect condition. The luminous on the hour markers and original hands has a pleasing and uniform patina. Date window at 3 o’clock.
Original automatic winding Rolex Caliber 1570 with 26 jewels and adjusted to 5 positions and temperature. Movement is a C.O.S.C. Certified Chronometer and is in clean running condition.
Bracelet is Rolex Oyster 93150 with ‘580’ end links, with 12 links and flip-lock diver’s clasp.
