Description
Rolex is most famous for its purpose built tool watches. The Explorer II is designed with cave explorers in mind. Spelunking, I think it’s called, is cave exploring where the explorers go deep underground, often for days at a time. The Explorer II provides a red 24 hour hand and 24 hour bezel, so that in an absolute absence of light, the explorers can stay on their sleeping and waking schedule.
Dial is black with luminous hour markers and hands, date at 3 o’clock and that great looking red 24 hour hand with the luminous arrow head.
Stainless steel case is 40mm diameter by 12.5mm thick. Crystal is sapphire. Screw down crown operates perfectly. Bezel is engraved with 24 hour scale. Bezel has some light surface scratches. Water resistant to 100 meters. Case is mint.
Movement is the automatic winding Rolex Caliber 3185 with 31 jewels and adjusted to 5 positions and temperature. This movement is a C.O.S.C. Certified Chronometer. Bracelet is Rolex Oyster fliplock 93150 with 12 links in mear mint condition.
Watch is mint condition and will be delivered with Rolex box and booklets.
