Description
This ladies’ 18k gold Rolex Datejust, reference 69278 with President bracelet, was retailed by the famous jeweler Van Cleef & Arpels and dates to 1987. The dial is deep red, maroon really, enamel and is signed “MRM” which denotes its association to Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum (MRM), who is the Prime Minister and Vice President of the United Arab Emirates and also the absolute monarch of Dubai. Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum had Rolex make a series of enamel dials with his “MRM’ signature.
The watch features bark finish on the bezel and the center links of the President bracelet. The watch is complete with original box and papers, hang tag, as well as Rolex Service Corp. documents from an October 2008 service. As one would expect post Rolex service, the watch is in mint plus condition.
The 18k gold case, as mentioned, features an almost unique bark finish on the bezel. The case is brush finished on top and mirror polished on the sides, which is the Rolex factory finish. The case is free of scratches or signs of wear. Dimensions are 26mm diameter by 10.5mm thick. The crystal is sapphire. Water resistant to 100 meters.
