Description
This 1960’s Longines Conquest is in new old stock condition, or mint+ if you prefer. This is the type of watch that men wore as their daily watch back in the day and it was unusual for a person to own more than one watch. When the watch broke it went to the watchmaker. Watches were on your wrist practically every day for your whole life. Also, most watches back then were manual winding, yet this is an automatic which was, and still is, a premium quality timepiece.
Stainless steel case which has a gold cap on the front (so it looks like a gold watch) with long straight lugs with contoured edges. Domed acrylic crystal. Massive screw back with gold emblem on case back showing a fish and a hand-painted “LONGINES AUTOMATIC WATERPROOF”. Original crown. Case measures 35mm diameter by 12mm thick.
Original untouched dial is silver with vertical brushing. This dial has something I have never seen before. There is a concentric ring cut into the dial and the applied golden hour markers are laid over the concentric channel like little bridges. Original golden hands with unique shape.
Original automatic winding Longines Caliber 290 with 24 jewels and in perfect condition. I am sure that when we cracked the case to peek inside, it is the first time the case has been opened.
Strap is new generic leather with gold tone buckle. Condition of this watch is new old stock/mint+.
