Wow, what a rare and spectacular beauty this watch is. Solid 18k gold 1803 case with plastic crystal and 18k Rolex Oyster bracelet with an original Malachite dial. It doesn’t get more exotic or alluring than this watch if you are a Day Date collector.
Original solid 18k gold case measures 36mm diameter by 11.7mm thick. Original screw down crown works perfectly. Plastic crystal is in perfect condition. Original solid gold fluted bezel, like the rest of the case, is in mint/mint+ condition.
Original Malachite dial shows full day display and date display. Malachite is a mineral. Rolex creates each dial by taking a slice of the mineral and cutting out the dial and then bringing it to a Rolex level of finish. Yes, all malachite is green, but each dial has different striations and patterns. The net result is that every Rolex malachite dial is unique.
Original movement is the automatic winding Rolex Caliber 1555 with 26 jewels and adjusted to 5 positions and temperature. The movement is a C.O.S.C. Certified Chronometer. Movement is clean and running well. The day and date switch over crisply at midnight.
