Description
The Roger Dubuis brand came out of nowhere in the late 1990s and offers watches of the highest quality matched with incredible style. It's not hype, it's not marketing: these are awesome watches. Roger Dubuis the man served as a master watchmaker, head of the Ateliers, and watch designer at both Patek Philippe and Franck Muller's Watch Land. Extraordinarily talented and experienced, and approaching his 60s, Roger decided he wanted his own brand, and watchdom can be glad that he made that big step. This Three Retrograde wristwatch is limited to 28 watches produced.
Solid 18k white gold case is square with massive proportions, at 40mm tall and wide by 14.5mm thick, and features both brushed and polished surfaces, a sapphire crystal in front and in the case back, and a date quick set button set into the crown.
This is not only a very impressive watch from an horological perspective, but also visually on the wrist.
Dial is mother of pearl and black. The black area has an engraved grid pattern. The white hand indicates the date. The two blued hands indicate minutes and hours. Minutes are shown at the top of the dial (0-60) while hours (12-12) are shown underneath the minutes.
The time and date are shown in retrograde along their respective scales. When each hand reaches the end of its scale, it flies back to the beginning. The hands are skeletonized and are known as Cathedral hands.
Movement is in house automatic winding Roger Dubuis Caliber 5799 with 25 jewels and adjusted in 5 positions and engraved with the ultra-prestigious Geneva Seal. Only Roger Dubuis and Patek Philippe are known to submit practically their entire production of movements for the awarding of the Geneva Seal.
Strap is new Roger Dubuis black alligator with 18k white gold Roger Dubuis deplpyant clasp.
