ROLEX 6239 DAYTONA CHRONOGRAPH STEEL

Here is a clean, classic vintage Rolex Cosmograph Daytona with mint black dial and original papers. I remember one Sunday several years before I became serious about watches, going to a café in London for a coffee, there was a gentleman sitting outside the café reading the newspaper wearing a vintage Rolex Daytona. He was dressed in khakis and a sweater and with all that was going on around me on that busy London street, the vintage Daytona is all I could think about.

Stainless steel case features original clean bezel with “Units per Hour” scale ranging from 300 to 60, plastic crystal, original screw down crown and round pump-style chronograph pushers. Case condition is clean and mint with uniform lugs.

Serial number 1695XXX dates production to 1967. Inside case back is marked ‘6239’. Case dimensions are 37mm diameter by 13.8mm thick.

Black untouched dial with applied hour markers and original baton hands. Subdials are sunken with concentric guilloche and original hands.

Rolex manual winding Caliber 722 with 17 jewels and column wheel construction. Movement is clean and running fine.

Strap is new custom suede leather with Rolex buckle.

Watch includes its original papers showing it was purchased on November 8, 1969 in Spain.
