Description
Patek Philippe marked the new millennium with the reference 5100 Manta Ray, which had a revolutionary movement with 10 day power reserve. That watch is one of the most collectable Pateks extant. You are looking at its inspiration, the lady’s Manta Ray from the late 1950s. The case looks like a manta ray, hence the nickname these watches share.
Original 18k gold case is rectangular with a flared fin on the left case side, reminiscent of a Manta Ray’s fin. Case is flat across the bottom, flared on the sides, and arched in the center. Crystal is acrylic and shaped to fit the curve of the case. Crown is signed and recessed. Dimensions are 26mm long by 17mm wide by 6.6mm thick.
Original silver dial with applied golden hour markers and original golden baton hands. Signed PATEK PHILIPPE GENEVE SWISS.
Original Patek Philippe Caliber 9’’’-90 formed manual winding movement with 18 jewels, Gyromax balance adjusted to temperature and in 5 positions, and stamped with the Geneva Seal.
