Description
Rolex introduced this watch to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Submariner in 2004. Flash forward to 2012 and this version of the “green” Submariner is no longer being produced and has become quite collectable.
The green bezel is the most obvious difference between this and a normal 16610 Sub. However, the dial is improved as well. When you carefully examine one of these "Kermits" (as they were once affectionately know), you can't help but notice what an improvement this "Maxi Dial" is over the standard dial, with the larger hour markers and large hands.
Stainless steel case is 40mm diameter by 12.8mm thick; water resistant to 300 meters; Trip-lock crown; Oyster bracelet with enough links to fit up to an 8 inch wrist and flip-lock clasp for added security.
Movement is the Rolex workhorse automatic caliber 3135, which has literally been incrementally improved over time to the point where it may be the best watch movement extant, in terms of reliability, serviceability, and accuracy. Certified Chronometer.
Watch is 99% new with box and papers.
