Iconic. No word is more apt in describing an original vintage Rolex “Paul Newman” Cosmograph Daytona. It truly is a legendary and beautiful watch.
Original stainless steel case is in mint to mint+ condition. Original Units per Hour bezel with scale from ‘60’ to ‘300’. Original screw down crown and round pump-style chronograph pushers. Plastic crystal. Case dimensions are 37mm diameter by 13.2mm thick. Serial number 1597XXX dates production to 1966. Inside case back is stamped ‘6239’.
Original untouched black 3 color Paul Newman (also called “Exotic”) dial with contrasting silver subdials. Original hands. Dial and hands are mint. Applied Rolex coronet.
Original Rolex manual winding Caliber 72B with 17 jewels and adjusted in 3 positions. This chronograph movement features column wheel construction, and is in very clean and running condition. Chronograph hands reset crisply and accurately to their zero positions.
Bracelet is Rolex riveted Oyster with 12 links, clean and with moderate stretch. Bracelet has date code of 4 70.
