Description
Here is an early Datejust in the desirable and collectable reference 6105 from 1951. Rolex has been making the Datejust for an incredible 68 years. The 6105 is the most collectable model. Our watch is clean and 100% original.
Original solid 10k gold case with original reeded solid gold bezel, original SUPER + OYSTER ROLEX crown, domed plastic crystal and massive screw down case back. I have heard these watches called both Big Bubble Back and Ovettone. Between the 12 o’clock lugs is printed 6105 MODELE DEPOSE. Serial number 777XXX dates watch to 1951. Case dimensions are 36mm diameter by 14.3mm thick.
Original untouched dial with champagne color patina, applied golden hour markers, applied golden Rolex crown, date window framed in gold, and large original golden sword hands. Two very cool aspects to this dial: all the date numbers are in red versus the more familiar roulette date wheel format, and take a close look at the CERTIFIED CHRONOMETER text above 6 o’clock. Now look just above it and you will see a faded but discernible “OFFICIALLY” in red.
Original C.O.S.C. Certified Chronometer automatic winding Rolex Caliber A296 with 18 jewels. Movement is clean and running.
Strap is new custom leather with plated Rolex buckle.
