Description
The new Patek Philippe model 5950A is such an impressive watch on so many levels. For starters, the split-seconds chronograph movement inside, the Caliber CH 27-525 PS is the thinnest rattrapante movement ever from any manufacturer. The styling of the watch is outstanding and the selection of a stainless steel case to house this masterpiece of horology is masterful.
Case is cushion shaped with dimensions of 37mm by 37mm, 44.6mm long and 10.15mm thin (remarkably thin to be housing a split-seconds movement). Sapphire front and display back crystals. Watch is also accompanied by a second solid case back. The best part of the case is the single chronograph pusher, also called a mono-pusher, design with the split-seconds button positioned in the winding crown.
Dial is opaline white with applied blackened white gold Breguet numerals, blackened white gold hands, design motif in black lacquer in the corners, and two sub dials. Dial also features a railway track minute scale. Patek says the dial color was selected to compliment the stainless steel case. It surely looks great.

Strap is hand-stitched Patek Philippe alligator with engraved Patek tang buckle.
