Description
Let me just tell you right off that this is a beautiful watch. The original, untouched black 3 color “Paul Newman” dial on this watch is gorgeous. It’s pristine and striking. Nicest one I’ve seen in a while. The reference 6241 in stainless steel is a rarity, too, making this all original, clean as a whistle vintage Daytona a valuable treasure for whoever owns it next.
Original case is stainless steel with dimensions of 37mm diameter by 13.4mm thick. Crystal is acrylic. Pump style chronograph pushers and screw down crown are all original and working correctly. Original bezel with sharp edges and insert with ‘50’ to ‘200’ Units per Hour scale. Case is in mint condition.
Serial number is 1764XXX which dates production to 1967.
Original, untouched three color black “Paul Newman” dial with crisp step, contrasting white sub dials and outer white and red minutes scale. Subdials are sunken with concentric guilloche. Hands are original to this watch.
Original movement is the manual winding Rolex Caliber 722-1 with seventeen jewels and adjusted to three positions. Movement features column wheel construction and is very clean and working as it should.
Bracelet is a folded Rolex Oyster reference with 12 links and is near mint with light to moderate stretch.
This is an all-around clean and collectable and all original Rolex Cosmograph Daytona with original three color black Paul Newman dial. I dare say it is as collectable as it is beautiful.
