Description
Take a look at the pictures of this watch. The first thing you notice is that it looks rose gold. That’s because this watch sat literally undisturbed in a safe since the 1990s and developed a super-rich patina on the gold case that is literally spectacular. This is one of Audemars Piguet’s epic designs, the Quantieme Perpetual Cambre and this is watch No. 1X and complete with box, hang tag, booklets and two AP note pads. The Audemars Piguet model number is 25682.
Case is rectangular shaped with dimensions of 45mm long by 27mm wide by 8.8mm thick. Case is curved over the top and the sapphire crystal is shaped accordingly. The big story here is that the watch is never worn, never polished as evidenced by the rosy patina on the gold.
Dial is silvered with applied golden baton hour markers and baton hands. The four displays are visually balanced and show: date, moonphase and age of moon, day and month.
Movement is the manual winding Audemars Piguet Caliber 2003/2805 Caliber with 18 jewels, self-compensating balance spring, and adjusted for heat, cold, isochronism and in 5 positions.
Watch is on its original strap which is unworn. Condition is still new. Production of this model was very low and the retail price in the mid-1990s was $34,800.
