Description
This is one of the nicest looking vintage Rolex chronographs we have ever had. You NEVER find these older chronographs in solid gold, and the interplay of the gold case and untouched original silver dial is beautiful.
Original solid 14k gold case with original smooth domed bezel, original screw-down crown working perfectly, round pump style chronograph pushers and plastic crystal. Serial number 462XXX dates watch to 1959. Inside case back is engraved ‘6234’. Dimensions are 36mm diameter by 13.6mm thick. It looks so nice to have the bezel free of the tachometer scale.
Original untouched silver dial with applied golden hour markers, original golden baton hands, sunken subdials with concentric guilloche with original gold hands, applied golden Rolex coronet and tachometer scale at the periphery of the dial (versus on the bezel on the later Daytona models). Dial is in near mint condition.
Original manual winding Rolex Caliber 72 with 18 jewels and beating at 18,000 vibrations per hour and featuring column wheel construction. Movement is clean and running.
Watch is on new custom green suede strap that looks great. If the buyer prefers a different strap, we will deliver the watch on whichever kind of strap is preferred.
