Description
The condition of a vintage watch cannot be better than this, literally. New old stock with claw lugs and all case surfaces as sharp as the day this watch left the Movado factory in the 1940s. Original untouched silver dial has developed a beautiful, truly, champagne orangey patina. This is also a reverse chronograph, where the chronograph is activated and switched off with the 4 o’clock pusher and reset with the 2 o’clock pusher.
Original stainless steel case with claw (or faceted) lugs, domed plastic crystal, round pump-style chronograph pushers, domed crown, inner dust cover, and massive steel screw case back. Inside surface of the case back has the model number 19038 engraved along with the serial number A 1013XX. There is also a number between the 12 o’clock lugs 13XX. Original case finish, which is a combination of mirror polished and brushed surfaces, is undisturbed by polishing.
Original untouched silver dial with champagne patina, with large luminous hour markers and three sunken subdials with concentric guilloche. The subdials and main dial have corresponding scales. Original blued hands all the way around with the central hands having original inlaid luminous. The shape of the original chronograph hands is very unusual. Interestingly, while 99% of chronographs have a 30 minute totalizer this watch has a 60 minute chronograph totalizer paired with 12 hour chronograph totalizer subdial.
Original manual winding Movado Caliber 0.95 M with reverse chronograph operation, 17 jewels and column wheel construction. Take a look at the picture of the movement, as it is a superior looking movement as well as a technologically interesting and advanced one. Movement signed MOVADO FACTORIES.
Strap is new custom rustic leather with steel buckle.
