Description
We bought this watch recently from its original owner, who received it as a gift from his wife for their 10th wedding anniversary. She paid full retail of $375 at the time. All these years she told him she paid $275 because she was worried he would be angry that she paid so much!
Original stainless steel case is 37.5mm in diameter by 13.2mm thick. Original screw down second generation chronograph pushers and original screw down crown, all working perfectly. Acrylic crystal. Original bezel with Units per Hour scale from ‘50’ to ‘200’. Bezel is clean and with original sharp edge.
Serial number 3464XXX dates production to 1972.
Original untouched silver dial with applied hour markers and contrasting black subdials with concentric guilloche. Hands are all original and the subdial hands are white so as to maximize legibility against the black subdials.
Original movement is the manual winding Rolex Caliber 727 with 17 jewels and adjusted to three positions. This chronograph caliber features column wheel construction. Movement is pristine and running great.
Bracelet is the original Rolex riveted Oyster with 11 links.
Watch is complete with original Rolex box, punch papers, extra link in an envelope from the Rolex retailer Charles H. Barr in Newport Beach, California, and other documents.
