Chanel’s J12 wristwatch in black ceramic is an original modern classic. How do you know when something is classic? Because imitations appear in legion. But the J12 is the original ceramic watch on ceramic bracelet.
Not surprisingly, Chanel reserves the nicest watches for sale exclusively in its own Boutiques. Such is the case with this model H1706 black ceramic automatic winding chronograph. Chanel factory set with all VS Quality Top Wesselton diamonds on the bezel and throughout the bracelet. Chanel even submitted the movement for C.O.S.C. Chronometer Certification and the Controle Officiel Suisse Des Chronometres certificate is included with the watch.
Black high-gloss ceramic case is a large 41mm diameter with sapphire crystal, screw down crown, round pump style chronograph pushers, and of course with a double-row of diamonds on the stainless steel bezel. Ceramic is a great material to make a watch case and bracelet from because it is impervious to scratching so it basically looks new forever. Case is water resistant to 200 meters.
Black dial is just great looking with white arabic numerals with adjacent luminous markers and white baton hands also with luminous. The three subdials indicate constant seconds, chronograph 30 minute totalizer and chronograph 12 hour totalizer. Dial is signed CHANEL J12 AUTOMATIC OFFICIALLY CERTIFIED CHRONOMETER SWISS MADE. Date window between 4 o’clock and 5 o’clock.
Movement is premium quality Chanel automatic winding movement with 42 hour power reserve.
Bracelet is full-length black ceramic with center links with diamond pave. The clasps on Chanel watches are, quite literally, the best in the business. It is a double-folding, so-called butterfly style, with a patented tension system. It takes a fair bit of pressure to open the clasp and once it is closed, it is NOT coming off your wrist by accident!
Watch is new with double box, Chronometer Certificate, Chanel booklet and Chanel warranty card. US retail price is $42,000 and they will not discount the watch one dollar in the Chanel Boutique.
