Description
The original untouched dial on this watch is special and rare. The vast majority of Calatrava dials from this period have simple index style hour markers. Instead, this dial has applied golden arabic numerals and it totally changes the look of the watch. The look that Patek achieved with these older Calatravas with golden dauphine hands and simple 18k gold cases, defines “classic”.
Case on this rare reference 2545 is 18k gold with dimensions of 31.5mm diameter by 9.5mm thick. Crystal is domed. The case back is a massive, solid 18k gold, screw back to protect against moisture intrusion.
Original and untouched silvered dial with patina that now appears as cream color, with uber-rare applied arabic numerals, luscious original golden dauphine hands, and subsidiary seconds dial with two-tone finish.
Movement is the manual winding Patek Philippe Caliber 12-400 with 18 jewels and adjusted to heat, cold, isochronism and in five positions. This movement is double stamped with the Geneva Seal.
Watch is on new black strap with gold tone buckle.
