Description
Here is one of the rarest ever vintage Calatravas, the reference 3454. We had never even heard of it until we bought this watch. I can’t think of another Patek with a fluted bezel (as opposed to the common hob nail) and the case is oversized for 1960’s watches at 35mm diameter. The case also features a screw back, which is an important collectable attribute on these vintage Calatrava wristwatches.
Original solid 18k gold case measuring 35mm diameter by 10.5mm thick, with domed acrylic crystal, opposing Ps signed crown and massive screw back. Case back is personalized.
Original silver dial with embossed black baton hour markers and original golden baton hands. Subsidiary seconds dial, which is not commonplace for an automatic watch – just another twist to a very rare watch.
Original automatic winding Patek Philippe Caliber 27-460 with 37 jewels, balance adjusted to heat, cold, isochronism and in 5 positions and double stamped with the Geneva Seal. Rotor is solid gold for increased mass and winding efficiency.
Condition is mint and watch is on new Hermes style straps.
