Description
This is a special Daytona. First of all, you rarely find 16528s with full box and papers. The champagne dial (noted on the papers) is great looking with the vintage black chapter rings.
Rolex Cosmograph Daytona with solid (and heavy!) solid 18k yellow gold case and Oyster bracelet with dimensions of 39mm diameter by 13mm thick. Solid gold bezel with engraved Units per Hour scale. Screw down crown and chronograph pushers, all operating perfectly. Sapphire crystal. Water resistant to 100 meters. Solid gold Rolex Oyster bracelet with solid end links and 13 bracelet links along with a flip-lock clasp. This is from W series production.
Movement is the Rolex Caliber 4030 which is actually a Rolex modified Zenith El Primero base caliber. If one ever needed proof that Rolex is a perfectionist, they need look no further than their use and modifications to the El Primero. The Zenith El Primero was, and is, recognized as being the best large series production chronograph caliber made. Rolex used the El Primero in their Daytona watches, but not before doing extensive upgrades and refinements.
Original champagne dial with the old style black chapter rings... and 'DAYTONA' in red letters arching over the 6 o'clock subdial. Applied hour markers and original golden baton hands.
Condition of this collectable Daytona is mint. Watch is complete with original Rolex box, Warranty Certificate (“papers”), booklets and even the hangtag. I personally collect these 16528s and I can say this is one of the nicest I have ever seen.
