Description
As the market for these vintage Monacos has heated up, most markedly since the recent auction of the watch that Steve McQueen actually owned and wore, we see very few entirely original watches like this one. Many of have been put together. Certainly, this watch is in far better condition than most!
Original stainless steel square case with alternating polished and brushed finish, domed square plastic crystal, and original signed crown and chronograph pushers. Case dimensions are 38mm long not including the lugs, by 40mm wide not including the crown by 14mm thick.
Original grey dial with brush finish and grey square chronograph totalizer subdials. Applied hour markers. The center hands are red as are the hour markers at each 5 minute position. This dial has three subdials: chronograph 30 minute totalizer at 3 o’clock, chronograph 12 hour totalizer at 6 o’clock, and constant seconds at 9 o’clock.
Original manual winding Heuer Caliber 7736 with 17 jewels.
Only the strap is not original, although it is the correct size and form with the “tropical” holes.
