Description
Here is a so-called pre-Daytona Rolex chronograph, the model 6238, from late in the production, in remarkably mint all-original condition and complete with original Rolex box, Guarantee certificate and even the original paper hang tag showing the model and serial numbers.
Original stainless steel case with smooth bezel, round pump style chronograph pushers and original screw-down crown, domed plastic crystal and case with thick, uniform lugs. Case condition is mint/mint+. Size is 36mm diameter by 12.8mm thick.
Serial number 1226XXX dates production to 1965. The papers show the watch was sold on 4.2.67 by the authorized retailer.
Original untouched silver dial with applied hour markers with intact original luminous dots, three sunken subdials with concentric guilloche, tachometer scale around the dial’s periphery and original hands in mint condition.
Original Rolex Caliber 72B in immaculate condition and running. Column wheel construction.
Original riveted Rolex Oyster bracelet with 1 65 date code in remarkably mint condition and no stretch!
