Description
The market for vintage Rolex Daytona watches has literally never been better. Here is a rather nice looking model 6265 in stainless steel – all original including the Rolex box and papers – with classical silver dial with red DAYTONA. These watches become rarer every passing day, week, month, year… as they got acquired and permanently retired to collections. The Daytona is THE iconic chronograph wristwatch,
Original stainless steel case is 37.5mm in diameter by 13.5mm thick. Original screw-down chronograph pushers and original screw down crown, all working perfectly. Plastic crystal. Original bezel with Units per Hour scale from ‘50’ to ‘200’. Bezel is clean and with original sharp edge. Unlike so many others, this case has not been polished much, if ever, over the years and presents with its full metal.
Serial number 5596XXX dates production to 1978. The Garantie paper shows a retail sale date of 8.1.1979.
Original untouched silver dial with applied hour markers and contrasting black subdials with concentric guilloche. Hands are all original and the subdial hands are white so as to maximize legibility against the black subdials.
Original movement is the manual winding Rolex Caliber 727 with 17 jewels and adjusted to three positions. This chronograph caliber features column wheel construction. Movement is pristine and running.
Bracelet is the Rolex heavy link Oyster with folding clasp.
Watch is complete with original Rolex box and papers.
