Description
Here is an especially nice looking vintage Patek Philippe Calatrava in 18k gold with unusual reference 3435 which was made in tiny quantity starting in 1960. Condition of the watch is new old stock, never polished, with sharp and original edges on the case.
Solid never polished 18k gold case is 34mm diameter by 41mm long from lug tip to lug tip by a thin 8.5mm thick. Case is two-part with down-sloping bezel, straight lugs, opposing PP crown and domed acrylic crystal.
Original untouched silver dial is so light as to be almost white, with applied hour markers and applied ‘12’ and original golden baton hands. Subsidiary seconds chapter. Fascinatingly, the embossed minutes chapter appears to be white gold.
Patek Philippe automatic winding Caliber 27-460 with 30 jewels; adjusted to heat, cold, isochronism and in 5 positions; double-stamped with the Geneva Seal and with 18k gold winding rotor.
Bracelet is no doubt original to the watch and is solid 18k gold and is in all likelihood a Guy Freres bracelet. Guy Freres made bracelets for Patek Philippe and their most famous bracelet is the bracelet that came on the legendary reference 2526.
Once again, this watch is unpolished new old stock condition and a rare reference.
