Description
Think of this watch as the model that transitioned the Bubble Back era into the Datejust era (which continues to this day). Visually, this 6105 looks like both the Bubble Back and Datejust. Interestingly, unlike both of those models, this case has no holes to access the springbars. This watch is from 1953, making it an excellent birth year watch for a 60 year old this Christmas!
Original stainless steel case measures 36mm diameter by 15mm thick. Domed plastic crystal and domed screw-on case back. Solid 18k gold engine turned bezel and 18k original crown which operates perfectly. Inside case back marked 6105.
Original silver dial has taken on a cream color patina which looks great. Applied arrow style hour markers, applied Rolex crown, date window framed in gold and original golden dauphine hands. Date is all in red (versus the alternating black and red).
Original Chronometer certified automatic winding Rolex Caliber A296 with 18 jewels. Movement is clean and running.
Watch is on black leather strap with Rolex buckle.
