Description
These Rolex Cosmograph Daytonas from the Zenith El Primero production are now entering into the vintage category. Collectors are beginning to really pay up for these watches, as not they are not only great looking watches but they are also the first automatic winding Daytonas.
We don’t see many 18k/stainless steel watches, known as “two-tone”, but I have to say that the steel and gold play off of each other for excellent effect. This is a beautiful watch, especially with the black dial. It’s the perfect match of sporty and elegant.
Case is stainless steel with solid 18k bezel with engraved Units per Hour scale. The screw down crown and screw down chronograph pushers are all solid gold and are working perfectly. Crystal is sapphire and this watch is water resistant to an impressive 100 meters. Diameter is 40mm.
Original untouched dial is black with applied golden hour markers. The hands are the original gold baton with inlaid luminous. The chronograph subdials have gold chapter rings with their respective scales. The word “Daytona” is in red.
If one ever needed proof that Rolex is a perfectionist, they need look no further than Rolex's selection of, and modifications to, the El Primero. The Zenith El Primero was, and is, recognized as being the best large series production chronograph caliber made. Rolex used the El Primero in their Daytona watches, but not before doing extensive upgrades and refinements. The movement is a C.O.S.C. Certified Chronometer.
Bracelet is the Rolex Oyster with steel and 18k gold links and flip-lock clasp.
Watch is like new with original box, booklets and papers.
