Description
The Patek Philippe Nautilus is a Gerald Genta designed timepiece with its origins in the 1970s. Overwhelmingly produced in stainless steel, with a smattering of yellow gold examples, the 18k white gold Nautilus reference 3711 is exceedingly rare. Of course, the white gold Nautilus looks at first glance like its steel brethren, but upon closer inspection you can see the rich luster that only gold exudes. It’s especially warm looking on its many brush finished surfaces.

The Nautilus has an integral bracelet at the heart of its design, with brush finished links with a polished interstitial connecting part. The width of the links tapers and the closure is invisible but for a fold-over Calatrava Cross signed security clasp. The 18k white gold bracelet on this watch is full-length. The clasp is double folding.

The 18k white gold case features the Nautilus’s characteristically shaped, brush finished on top and polished on the sloping sides bezel. The crystal is sapphire. The crown screws down for water resistance and considering the Nautilus is Patek’s legendary sports watch, the case is water resistant to 120 meters. The case back features a sapphire display crystal.

The dimensions are 42mm wide by 42mm long by 9.4mm thick.

Dial is black with horizontal channeling, applied white gold hour markers and white gold hands, both with luminous, and a date display at 3 o’clock.

Movement is the automatic winding Patek Philippe Caliber 315SC with 30 jewels, Gyromax balance adjusted to heat, cold, isochronism and in 5 positions, and stamped with the Geneva Seal. The winding rotor is decorated and forged from 21k gold to maximize mass and make winding as efficient as possible.
